National Textile University students exploring digital business can separate two different goals: learning to build stores for clients and operating their own store. The first requires a deliverable service; the second also involves products, fulfilment, customer service and business costs.
CYBEX is an independent training provider. This guide does not imply affiliation with, endorsement by, or academic credit from NTU.
Compare the Learning Paths
Shopify Development
Review the Shopify Development course if you want to practise product catalogues, store structure and configuration. Ask which theme, app and order-management tasks the current outline covers. Building a demonstration store does not prove that the business will attract customers.
Freelancing
Compare the Freelancing course for proposals, service scope, pricing and client communication. Develop a practical service and original portfolio before promising client results. Neither a profile nor course completion guarantees an order.
A Textile Catalogue Practice Project
Build a fictional clothing or home-textile catalogue with product descriptions, permitted images, size information and variant options. Map what happens when a customer places an order and when an item needs to be returned. Use test arrangements instead of collecting real customer payments during practice.
Document which details came from your own brief and which remain assumptions. Do not use university products, trademarks, supplier information or photographs without permission. Present the work as a practice project rather than an official NTU store.
Separate Revenue from Profit
A store’s sales total is not its profit. A planning exercise should include product costs, delivery, platform and payment charges, refunds, software and advertising. Freelance pricing also needs to allow for revisions, communication and unpaid time finding work. This guide does not prescribe an investment amount, recovery period or earnings forecast.
Questions Before Considering Dropshipping
Investigate supplier reliability, delivery times, returns, product quality and how customer complaints would be handled. Not holding stock does not mean operating without cost or risk. Verify business and payment-provider requirements before launching; never assume a trial account is a complete business setup.
Check the Current Course Terms
Before payment, confirm the prerequisites, modules, instructor, fee, duration, timetable and delivery mode for the specific batch. Ask separately about software costs, attendance and assessment requirements, certificate availability, refunds and any support services. Do not assume that a student discount, recording policy, internship or placement offer applies unless it is confirmed in writing.
Compare the actual class schedule with your university timetable, examinations and travel needs. Check the route from your own campus rather than relying on a fixed journey time. A short course supplements learning; it does not replace a degree, guarantee academic credit or promise employment, freelance clients or income.
